Excellent venue in the West End, where the kids can explore in safety. From Steam Trains and Trams to modern day including Eadie Mc Credie's bus from Balamory. Restaurant on site.

Science Centre
A "must see" venue whatever the weather. 3 floors of interactive fun and free science demonstrations/craft activities. Restaurant and Coffee shop. 3D IMAX cinema and Glasgow Observation Tower on site also. Fantastic modern building and child friendly facilities, voted as 7th best attraction in Scotland.

Scotland Street School Musuem

Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery
Located in Glasgow University in the West End, contains Dinosaurs, Egyptians, Romans and more. Good 1 hour visit. Tel 0141 330 4221 | www.hunterian.gla.ac.uk
Clydebuilt Maritime Museum
Located at Braehead shopping Centre 15 minutes from city centre. Excellent interactive displays showing history of shipbuilding on the Clyde. Kids will enjoy the different levels and buttons to push. Great also for shopping with kids push along cars/shopping trolleys available for hire in the centre. If weather is clear then there is a great free Pirate Ship play park they can enjoy. Ice Rink also located in shopping centre.

Xscape Snowdome and Activity Centre

People's Palace & Winter Gardens (Free)
Located on Glasgow Green, just on the east side of the city centre. Excellent free venue with two floors of interactive displays from 1940's Glasgow lifestyle's to present day, including Billy Connolly's famous Banana Boots. Impressive Victorian Glasshouse with exotic plants, coffee shop and open space for kids to run around. If the weather is dry then walk outside to the newly developed fountain, the largest porcelain fountain in Europe, and the large outside children's play area with giant climbing frame.

Queens Park Glasshouse (free)
Located in Queens Park, Glasgow South Side, 15 minutes from city centre and very near to Shawlands. Good for filling a couple of hours. Includes two areas of exotic plants, large collection of exotic reptiles and birds, coffee shop and small soft play area deal for toddlers. Burrell Collection and Pollok Park
We recommend you visit this venue whatever the weather. Stunning modern building housing the Burrell Collection, with free guided tours of the many artefacts and excellent coffee shop/restaurant. Also in this country park is Pollok House (National Trust). Victorian Manor house with many different rooms to view. Also contains coffee shop with excellent selection of cakes. When the weather is fine enjoy the riverside setting, stunning gardens and visit the resident Shire Horses and Highland Cows.

Gallery of Modern Art
Located in Royal Exchange Square, Glasgow city centre. In addition to the contemporary art collections, there is a coffee shop and excellent free Saturday art club for 3-12 year olds.

Located in the top of the St Enoch shopping centre, Glasgow city centre. Good pre 5's section and convenient to grab a bit of shopping time also!
Whale of a Time
Located in Shawlands (South Side). Large venue with good separate section for toddlers. Good for incorporating lunch in child friendly Bella Napoli restaurant just the other side of the arcade.
Caper House Play Barn
Located on the outskirts of East Kilbride. About 15 minute drive from Glasgow city centre. Near to Retail Park for Burger King, Sainsbury's supermarket , Perfect Pizza etc. Tel 01355 579836
